Our proposed regeneration of Mercers Row will transform the site into a modern and innovative employment hub.
Sustainability is at the heart of our design. Buildings will be made with materials such as metal cladding or fibre cement board cladding, which have lower embodied carbon – carbon created through construction. The saw tooth roof design will optimise solar panel efficiency while also allowing daylight to penetrate deep into the building.
Responding to the local context, the buildings at the east end of the site near Stourbridge Common will be the tallest, with heights decreasing towards the residential area to the west. The tallest buildings will be 14m tall to the roof ridges and 10m tall to the roof eaves. The office spaces within the buildings will be split into two storeys, while the main floor will be one storey to ensure functional flexibility for a variety of potential occupiers.
