Supporting good growth
The proposed buildings are designed to have the flexibility to accommodate a range of uses for a variety of industries. This will allow Cambridge to retain many of the important businesses that are key to its economy and keep them from having to move outside of the city to find the floorspace they need for their operations.
Our proposals will create approximately 130 long-term jobs. The wide range of potential uses means that these jobs will be suitable to all skill levels, creating employment opportunities for local people of all backgrounds.
By regenerating an existing industrial site, we can increase the amount of floorspace without taking away any from residential, office or leisure spaces, all of which are equally important in supporting Cambridge’s growth.
The site sits in Abbey ward, which according to Cambridge City Council is one of the most deprived wards in the city. This development will bring jobs and investment to this community.
A variety of building sizes will provide a diverse array of spaces for employers.
